Sunahara Yoshinori "Subliminal"

Sunahara Yoshinori is back with a first original solo release since "Lovebeat" (2001)! That's if you don't count soundtrack "No Boys, No Cry" (2009) and the collaboration single "kamisama no iu tōri" out recently.

This new EP consisting of 4 brand new tracks! The release is said to be a time limited edition until January 2011, so it's best to buy early. A new album is rumored to be coming soon...

The video to Subliminal is up on Youtube now. It's a lot like the Lovebeat video.

These songs are in the vein of the Lovebeat album as well, albeit maybe a bit more spacey sounding. But the Kraftwerk-ish sound is still predominantly there. At this point I'd prefer something a little more organic and less cold like on the pre-Lovebeat albums. Nevertheless it is good to finally see music be released by him again. I did listen to the soundtrack, but apart from two tracks (Wave Motion and Tiptoeing) it didn't really do much for me.

I hope you can catch a gig from him and report back to us. Or maybe you saw him at Fuji Rock Festival? Get video if you can!
