Tokyo's Coolest Sound

moonriders released last year a new original album titled "It's the moooonriders" (, Spotify, YouTube Music), here comes an album that was made from recordings done in June 2022 over two days in the form of impromptu sessions that totaled over 10 hours. The large amount of material was edited into the resulting album of 6 tracks totaling over an hour. Aside from the moonriders' members, keyboardist Yūsuke Satō and guitarist Wataru Sawabe (Skirt), both of who also played on "It's the moooonriders", also took part in the sessions. The album is available on CD and digitally.

About two months after the announcement of this new album, moonriders' keyboardist Tohru Okada (also a member of CTO LAB.) passed away on February 14, 2023 at the age of 73. Early last year he had suffered from a compression fracture, but he had been getting better through rehabilitation and had resumed performing on stage. In the recent months he had been frequently posting to Instagram clips of himself playing. R.I.P.
