Cornelius "NHK 'Design Ah'"

Cornelius' new album is the soundtrack to NHK educative short series "Design Ah" (Ah = hiragana character あ) for which he was in charge of all music. Featured musicians include Chocolat, Minekawa Takako, Ohno Yumiko (Buffalo Daughter), salyu x salyu and Yakushimaru Etsuko.

The packaging unfolds into a 3D art piece.

You can hear the theme song at this special site, though you'll need to write "あ" to get started!

just received mine. Great Album. What's this show about?

Posted by Leandro on

Fun album isn't it! :) The show is short and kids-oriented, playing with shapes, colors, and other elements related to design, like in the the video clip seen above.

Another mysterious Cornelius product already... what is this thing?

Posted by Ed on

Thanks for the heads up! This is a collaboration of Cornelius, the new Ghost In The Shell movie, and sound gadget Buddha Machine. Cornelius made music and BGM for the movie, and it seems that 3 tracks are included. The machine has some functions to allow pitch bending and looping.

Looks like it's only available at Tower Records (which only ships within Japan).
