Various Artists "Shibuya-K Indiepop Collection Vol.1: headstart for happiness", "Vol.2: boys (& girls) wonder"

Two compilations of indie-pop artists influenced by the Shibuya-kei scene are coming from new label TKO. Sounds like a great idea to check what the scene is up to, or maybe give it to someone who has asked you the difficult question: "what is Shibuya-kei?" If anything, it's not dead.

Well, maybe Shibuya-kei is not dead, but I'm afraid I don't know *any* of these groups. I guess this says more about me than about these artists...
(boys & girls together sounds familiar, oh wait, that's a song by the Mamas & the Papas)

Shibuya-kei = love for pop (history) + lots of creativity + lots of fun. Or maybe just music coming from Shibuya.

Indeed, all of these are very indies. I only know a few myself, so don't worry. :)

I certainly wouldn't go as far as saying that these bands are Shibuya-kei all over again, only that they're children of the movement.
