Tokyo's Coolest Sound

"Roots of London Nite" is a new CD compilation series selected and supervised by rock DJ pioneer Kenshō Ōnuki (Instagram, Twitter) who started in 1980 the "London Nite" event which is still continuing to this day. The music played at those events includes old and new rock'n'roll, new wave, 60s beat, ska, soul, R&B, etc.

The compilation focuses mainly on 50s and 60s songs with a rock spirit, in search for the roots of "London Nite" and its founder. Included are originals but also covers, or the originals of popular covers. Aside from being available via the shop links below, within Japan the CD can be ordered at the label Oldays Records' online shop Merurido.

Kensho Onuki celebrated in February 2023 his 72nd birthday! Be looking forward to more of this series, and also to the ongoing "London Nite" events in Tokyo and Japan.
