The Scooters "Tokyo wa yoru no 7ji" (7" / 8cm CD)

This 7" by The Scooters is a brand new recording of a cover of Pizzicato Five's hit song, "Tokyo wa yoru no 7ji" ("The night is still young"). It was decided to record the song after Yasuharu Konishi asked The Scooters to make their own version, though just months later their leader Mitsuo Shindō passed away (R.I.P.). Nevertheless, the recording was completed by the band with the help of DJ Groove Unchant who made the song's demo. Maki Nomiya is featured on backing vocals.

The B-side is the song "Hey Girl", with music written by Tsutsumi Kyōhei and lyrics by Hashimoto Jun, which previously appeared on The Scooters' latest album "Une Manche et La Belle" (a.k.a. "onna wa nando mo shōbu suru"). The jacket was illustrated by Teruhiko Yumura a.k.a. Terry Johnson.

On the same day, a 8cm CD edition of the single is also being released, which contains the new track in its full length, as the 7" version was edited to fit the format. The CD contains instrumentals too. Find details below.

The Scooters remain active performing live in and out of Tokyo.
