Tokyo's Coolest Sound

The San Francisco-based Tokyo Beatiks Record Label (Bandcamp) has recently done a fiirst vinyl release, which came as a spli 7" of bands The Romans (Tokyo) —now known as The Second Waltz (𝕏, Instagram)— and Ichiban (California) (Bandcamp, Instagram).

THE ROMANS / Ichiban split 7 inch vinyl is Tokyo Beatniks Record Label's first release. The label, based in San Francisco, California, highlights indie bands for new listeners in Japan and the United States. SIDE A features all the gleam, sparkle, and wonder that THE ROMANS (now operating as The Second Waltz) has become known for. With a whirling synth, smooth electric piano, and laid back guitar strums, this semi-shoegaze, indie pop gem titled "suki ni nachatta", shares the strength of love during the difficulties of separation. SIDE B features a new release from California based Ichiban. Light and melodic, "Colours" captures the mood and vibe of the changing seasons and how with the warmth of music-even in the coldest of winters-can help wash away tears and pain.

The 7" and also a digital edition are available via the label's Bandcamp.
