Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Pianist and singer-songwriter Tetsurō Yafune has released a new album of covers, selected by Tōru Hashimoto (Café Après-midi, Surburbia). Backed by his trio (with woodbass and drums), the songs feature various female singers: Ann Sally, Miyuki Hatakeyama, Mineko Fujishima (Swinging Popsicle, Grenfelle), Way Wave and Hanae Sakuyama. This album follows "Yafune Tetsuro, Bellissima o utau.".

The album is available on CD and digitally, with an LP edition coming on July 30 and also two 7" cuts released on July 2 and 9 (details below).

On Monday, August 11 (a public holiday), Tetsuro Yafune will play the piano for a show of Maki Nomiya, to be held at newly opened venue Good Tempo in Ikejiri (inside a building that used to be a school). Find details here.
