Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Portable Rock, the new wave band fronted by Maki Nomiya since the 80s together with Tomofumi "Chibun" Suzuki and Nobuo Nakahara, has just released an album of favorite songs, all newly remastered. Also included are brand new songs "Lonely Girl, Dreaming Girl" (released earlier this month digitally) and "Chelsea no gogo". Watch the music video for "Lonely Girl, Dreaming Girl" below!

The songs "Edie" and "Sweet Renaissance" have lyrics written by Konishi Yasuharu (Pizzicato One) and were first released on album "Lost & Found" (2012).

Also on May 25, ten of Maki's works (solo and Portable Rock albums/EPs) including this album were made available digitally worldwide: Maki Nomiya "New Beautiful" (2022), "JOY", "Looker", "Lady Miss Warp", "DRESS CODE", "Party People", Maki Nomiya & Fernanda Takai "Maki-Takai no Jetlag", Portable Rock "PAST & FUTURE ~ My Favorite Portable Rock", "QT+1", and "Dance Volunteer". A Portable Rock show, also celebrating Maki's 40th anniversary since her debut, will be held on Saturday July 9 at Shindaita Fever in Tokyo (details). Tickets go on sale Friday May 27 at 12:00.
