HASYMO "the city of light / tokyo town pages"
HASYMO, the recent unit of Sakamoto Ryūichi, Hosono Haruomi and Takahashi Yukihiro (all three formerly YMO = Yellow Magic Orchestra), has a new single coming up. Included are "the city of light", the theme song of News23, and "tokyo town pages", the ending theme of movie "Tokyo!" (a collection of short films by Michel Gondry, Leos Carax and Joon-ho Bong).
This single is said to feature the three playing their respective real instruments: Takahashi on drums, Hosono on bass, and Sakamoto on piano.
HASYMO will perform at festival World Happiness on August 10 in Tokyo. That might be the first chance to hear these songs performed live.

Wow, is it for real? Come on, let's hear a full-length - for people who have been in the business 30 years, they're still very inventive and forward-looking, and everything they do together is great!
