There's a new techno-pop unit called CTO LAB., formed of Okada Tōru (Moonriders), Polymoog (Elektel) and Imai Kentarō (The Aprils).
"CTO" standing for "Compact Techno Organization", the concept is to use small synthesizers and electronic instruments for making their music. These include the SX-150 (a mini-synthesizer included with magazine "otona no kagaku"), Korg DS-10 (a Nintendo DS software synth), Kaossilator, iPod Touch, a Nintendo Wiimote, etc. This first album comes on Okada Tōru's own label Valb.
A release party will be held at Aoyama Mandala on July 16 (Friday). Details at Tokyo Gig Guide.
