This is the 3rd release from the "Girls At Our Best" series of cover EPs by Sally Kubota Group. This time the featured girl singer is Chiyono Ide, also known as Mount Fuji local idol 3776. The songs covered are "Hong Kong Garden" (Siouxsie and the Banshees), "Dentaku" (Kraftwerk), "Ribbon no kishi" (Jun Togawa) and "Fujiyama Mama" (as sung in Japanese by Izumi Yukimura). Like the previous two, the release is available only on CD, which comes in a 7"-sized jacket with a small poster inside. Only the title song "Hong Kong Garden" is available digitally: , Spotify, YouTube Music, OTOTOY.
The music is performed by Sally Kubota on bass, Nakayama Tsutomu on Hammond organ and Hara "Gen" Hideki on drums, joined by guest musician Takashi Itani on percussions.
In Japan, the CD can also be ordered directly from the label's own online shop Merurido.
The two first ones of the series were: "Video Killed The Radio Star" feat. Emiri Kanou and "Just What I Always Wanted" feat. Natsumi Kiyoura. There was also a 7" release of the title songs from those two. Collect them all!
A release party will be held on June 18 at Shimokitazawa mona records, and will feature guest singers Chiyono Ide (3776), Natsumi Kiyoura (Tweedees), and Moe Hiiro, as well as DJ Emiri Kanou. Reservations can be made here.
