FUJISHIRO Seiji: Keroyon no dai jidōsha Race" 「藤城清治 ケロヨンの大自動車レース」Unfortunately, this edition is a short version of the movie (80 minutes instead of the full-length 120-minute film) that was previously released on LaserDisc in the 90's. It misses many songs from the original, but is said to be more easily watched by a younger audience.

Usually when songs disappear it's because of royalties or the need re-negotiate them. Then again 2 hours is generally considered quite long for kids entertainment and harder to air on TV, though still I guess for some kids a half hour is too long.

I heard the cuts were first done to fit the film on the LD format, at least that's what people say. It's a waste to lose a bunch of songs, but I'm still curious of this cut.

Either way this is a great film that you should really enjoy! I just watched "Keroyon no bōken" for the first time tonight and it was fantastic too!
