Various Artists "Hosono Haruomi Tribute Album - Tribute to Haruomi Hosono"

Here comes a very interesting tribute album to Hosono Haruomi (Sketch Show, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Happy End).

The 2-CD set will include appearances and many surprising collaborations, such as Sakamoto Ryūichi + Minekawa Takako (a return!), Yano Akiko + Rei Harakami, Takahashi Yukihiro, Jim O'Rourke with Kahimi Karie, Tei Towa + Natural Calamity, Cornelius + Sakamoto Ryūichi, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Koshi Miharu, and many more.
Covered songs are from Hosono's solo career, his bands YMO, Happy End, Sketch Show and also some songs he wrote for other people.

"Furaibo" was already covered by Moritaka Chisato on the wonderful Hosono-produced "This Summer Will Be More Better" CD - I can't imagine what Kahimi Karie will do with it...and I presume "Vagabond" is Vagabond Suzuki? Thanks for the English-language info, Chipple-san!

No, Vagabond was a daisyworld label artist and is not Vagabond Suzuki. I notice on the V.A. "Strange flowers he was billed as "Vagabond c.p.a."

The 1997 Chipmunks tribute xmas single collaboratrion with Hosono "Who Wants the Hula-Hoop" to me is the best known release. I don't think I've ever seen "the Old Music Master" (daisyworld, 1999)
