Various Artists "Wall of Sound Japan"

Like Sudō Kaoru's "Tender Love" (1989), produced by Konishi Yasuharu, quite a bit of J-pop took inspiration from Phil Spector's "wall of sound" technique. This compilation offers us a selection featuring many essential artists such as Matsuda Seiko, Watanabe Marina, Sheena & The Rokkets and Ōtaki Eiichi.
