Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Following the compilations "Seaside Chillout Breeze" and "Sunset Chillout Breeze", here comes a 3rd of the series titled "Summer-drive Chillout Breeze". Again supervised and selected by Toru Hashimoto (Suburbia, Café Après-midi, "Free Soul", etc.), it consists of mostly new recordings of covers by various artists.

Featured at Hideki Kaji (Haim's "Summer Girl"), Keiichi Sokabe (Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers' "That Summer Feeling"), orange pekoe (Koop's "Summer Sun"), Gōta Nishidera (of Nona Reeves) (Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin'"), and several more. Selected songs of Chari Chari, Calm, Nujabes and Yoshitaka Minami are also included.

The full compilation is available now on CD, and there's also a LP of 11 of the songs coming on August 8 (details below), plus four 7" cuts of the 8 new recordings which are now on sale (find details of the Hideki Kaji and Keiichi Sokabe split below). The new recordings can also each be found digitally.

There will be release parties on August 9 at Good Mellows in Kamakura, and on August 23 at Café Après-midi in Shibuya. Find flyers with details here.
