Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Japanese jazz label Playwright has just released two compilations worth of demos and home recordings by related musicians.

Label director Taniguchi Keisuke explained that feeling privileged to often be the first to hear artist demos (whether programmed, rehearsal recordings or just humming) which are often beautiful, he wanted to share this experience with listeners. Just three weeks after having the idea, these compilations were made possible by the enthusiasm of all artists featured.

Featured are songs by artists such as (or members of) Immigrant's Bossa Band, bohemianvoodoo, fox capture plan, PRIMITIVE ART ORCHESTRA, freecube, MASSAN×BASHIRY, Afro Begue, Alter Ego, POLYPLUS, The SKAMOTTS, YoYo the "Pianoman", tsukuyomi, re:plus, Sunaga t experience, m.s.t., colspan, Gecko&Tokage Parade, SilentJazzCase, Calmera, and JABBERLOOP.
