Tokyo's Coolest Sound

The label BOOTREC was started in 2016 as a sub-label of KiliKiliVilla and led by Nemoto De Chôbeaullet (Childish Tones) and Hitoshi "Kink" Suzuki (designer & DJ), and here comes a first label compilation under the new slogan "Nu Psychic Teen Sounds!" which sums up the label's spirit, englobing genres such as rock'n'roll, garage punk, punk & new wave, lo-fi & indie pop, etc.

The compilation will be released on vinyl (with a download code) and consists of both original and cover songs performed by 8 bands: Learners, Rinda & Marya (Instagram, Twitter), CAR10, Petersfield, Kettles, Bluevalley, Flashlights, and Childish Tones (Instagram, Twitter) (one song featuring Beni Usakura (Instagram, Twitter). The covers are of songs originally by Nico, Beat Happening, Kevin Ayers, Ernie Maresca, Big Star, Plastics, and Buzzcocks.

Released at the same time is a split 7" of Childish Tones feat. Beni Usakura and Bluevalley, titled "Summer Together EP".

Update: Original songs from the compilation are now available digitally, plus an alternate version of Childish Tones' "Night & Day" sung by Joe Nakamura (who wrote the song's lyrics)! (, Spotify, YouTube Music)
