1. Milk Talk "Möbius (edit)" (2025)

Milk Talk (Instagram, 𝕏, Bandcamp), the duo formed of The Hair Kid, a U.S.-born musician who lives in Himeji (Hyōgō pref.) and the Tokyo-based vocalist Q.i, has
released a new song titled "Möbius", available on Bandcamp and other streaming platforms (Spotify, , YouTube Music). The singles also includes a club mix and its instrumental.

This follows original song "Electric Indigo" (Bandcamp), since which they also released a remix of m-flo's "come again" taking part in a remix context (Spotify, , YouTube Music).

2. Kanojono Serve & Receive "all of U" (2025)
(Japanese title: 彼女のサーブ＆レシーブ 「all of U」)

Idol duo Kanojono Serve & Receive (a.k.a. Her Serves & Receive, or Kanosare) has released a new album in April, titled "Kirakuniikouze!". The album is available on CD only at this time (CDJapan, Amazon, HMV, Tower). The song "all of U" was written by the Fukuoka band bearstape (Instagram, 𝕏). The long-awaited album is the follow-up to "Kanosare" (2020) (Spotify, , YouTube Music).

Performing at many events every month, their schedule can be found on their web site, with details on their official 𝕏 account. In Tokyo, they can soon be seen on July 23 at Shibuya Flowers Loft (details & tickets).

This new album isn't available digitally, but you can watch the music video for the song "sayonara Sunset" below.

3. usabeni "City Girl Velocity" (2025)

usabeni (a.k.a. Beni Usakura) has recently released a new single titled "City Girl Velocity" (Spotify, , YouTube Music), with music written and produced by Q-Rabbit, and lyrics by usabeni herself. A remix by Q-Rabbit has also been released, with also a music video.

Aside from being available digitally, a limited CD-R edition can also be found at usabeni's shop NARUHESON;S (shipping directly within Japan only) or at her shows.

On July 7 was released a Tanzaku CD (8cm/3") edition of the usabeni & MaNaMaNa collaboration "Female Friend" ("onna tomodachi"), cover of Maki Nomiya's debut song. usabeni will appear at the "Tanzaku CD Festival" on August 2 at Yokosuka Younger Than Yesterday.

4. Owarikarahajimari "Fight" (2025)
(Japanese title: おわりからはじまり 「Fight」)

This is the latest song by electronic rock band Owarikarahajimari (𝕏), titled "Fight" (Spotify, , YouTube Music). It is the first release on the band's own Owahaji Label.

This song follows "We Are Feeling Love" out last January (Spotify, , YouTube Music).

5. Dai Nakamura "One Day Part 1" (2025)
(Japanese title: Dai Nakamura 「或る日 その1」 "aru hi sono 1 (ichi)")

This is a recent song by Dai Nakamura (a.k.a. NUBACK, also of Blank Music, BANK and Vacation Three, ex-Arch), from the digital EP "One Day", available on Bandcamp and other streaming platforms (Spotify, , YouTube Music). The EP consists of sound sketches recorded in January and February 2025, such as "One Day Part 1" (and 2), and also a self-cover of BANK's "Himitsu" (a song released on 7" in 2017).

The singer-songwriter has since then released another EP, of two songs, titled "Small Room" (Bandcamp, Spotify, , YouTube Music).

6. morensoji "Cyclamen" (2025)

Next is a recently formed 4-piece band named morensoji (Instagram, 𝕏) based in Niigata. They have recently released their first 3-song EP, titled "Cyclamen", sold on CD-R via their online shop. Their sound derives from guitar pop, Shibuya-kei, rock, etc., and they have recently opened for Hideki Kaji. Presented this time is the EP's title song, "Cyclamen".

7. Kanako Hara "Butterfly Scales feat. Asako Toki" (2025)
(Japanese title: はらかなこ 「鱗粉 feat. 土岐麻子」 "Rinpun feat. Asako Toki")

Soon to appear on Kanako Hara's upcoming album "Tokyo City Pop 'Portrait Vol.2'", to be released on CD and digitally on August 6, the song "Butterfly Scales feat. Asako Toki" was released in advance digitally (Spotify, , YouTube Music) as well as a few others, including the album's lead track "One and Only feat. Hitomi Shimatani & Shō Kurashina".

A special event titled "Live Light Mellow Vol.8" and performed by Good Bye April with Kanako Hara will be held on August 30 at Space Zero in Tokyo. Find details here.
