1. Cocopuff Club "France à la mode" (2024)
(Japanese title: Cocopuff Club 「ふらんす・あらもーど」)
Cocopuff Club (Bandcamp), the solo project of COCO (𝕏, Instagram), lead singer and guitarist of THE LET'S GO's. "France à la mode" is her 4th and latest song, recently released on Bandcamp. It was inspired by THE LET'S GO's France tour last summer!
THE LET'S GO's started 2025 with a new drummer, Amechi (ex-The Tomboys). They can next be seen in Tokyo on January 19 at Hatagaya Heavy Sick. There's also an upcoming special show on March 3 to introduce the new drummer properly. Find all show details in the band's schedule.

2. NUBACK "Nozomu Mono" (2024)
NUBACK (pronounced Noo-back), the solo project of singer-songwriter Dai Nakamura (also of Blank Music, BANK and Vacation Three, ex-Arch) has released digitally a set of two new songs as an EP titled "Nozomu Mono" (Bandcamp, Spotify, , YouTube Music).
Dai Nakamura also recently released an EP under his own name titled "Nami Oto". A 7" has just been released on London-based singles club style label wonderfulsound (wonderfulsound).
3. hitomitoi "Like a First Kiss feat. Wild Nothing" (2024)
(Japanese title: 一十三十一 「Like a First Kiss feat. Wild Nothing」)
This is a brand new song from hitomitoi, released iin December. It's a collaboration with U.S. artist Wild Nothing (a.k.a. Jack Tatum). "LIke a First Kiss" (Spotify, , YouTube Music) is said to be from her upcoming 8th album. Wild Nothing produced the track and is also heard singing in duet.
4. WAY WAVE "FREE MY SOUL (album ver.)" (2024)
From funky soulful sisters unit Way Wave's self-produced album "Journey" (Spotify, , YouTube Music), this is the album version of "Free My Soul". This song was first released as a collaboration single wiith Zettai Wasureruna, available as an 8cm CD for Tanzaku CD Day. Watch the original version's music video below.
Way Wave can be seen perform on January 24 at Yoyogi Live Studio Lodge (details & reservations). Their schedule also lists a solo show on February 16.

5. Machi Akari "Uchu Jangara Odori" (2024)
(Japanese title: 町あかり 「宇宙じゃんがら踊り」)
From Machi Akari's latest EP, "Machi Akari Techno Phase II" (Spotify, , YouTube Music), this is "Uchu Jangara Odori". The song's meaning takes its roots in Iwaki, Fukushima prefecture. A member of Pasocom Music Club apparently produced the song under a new monicker, "Hayama Kazuhiro".
Machi Akari will take part in a competition that will allow the winner to perform at the Emergenza festival in Germany. Her first appearance in the competion will be on February 22 at Shinjuku Nine Spices (tickets available via e+). You can read my support comment in English part of this article.
6. Aina Hirose "megami to 21bangai no Dress Up" (2024)
(Japanese title: 広瀬愛菜 「女神と21番街のドレスアップ」)
Singer Aina Hirose (𝕏) has released recently a 2nd full-length album, titled "21" (Spotify, , YouTube Music). The song "megami to 21bangai no Dress Up" was written by Yasuhiro Hase (Yume to Cosme).
The album also includes songs written by Keiichi Sokabe (Sunny Day Service), and Muneyoshi Matsuo (ex-Instant Cytron) ("Motor Cycle Girl"), and producer Yoshihiko Seki.
7. QUINCAMPOIX "Do Nothing" (2024)
QUINCAMPOIX is an indie girl rock band formed less than two years ago, and "Do Nothing" is from their first EP, "Go!Go!QUINCAMPOIX" (Spotify, , YouTube Music). Check out their YouTube channel too!
The band has hinted that their next show in Tokyo will be on January 31, 2025. Watch their SNS accounts for details: Instagram, 𝕏.

8. usabeni "Bye-bye (Demo)" (2024)
(Japanese title: usabeni 「バイバイ (Demo)」)
Last is a song by usabeni (a.k.a. Beni Usakura), from her latest CD single "Patchwork". While the single's title song is available digitally (Spotify, , YouTube Music), the track "Bye-bye (Demo)" was first only included on the CD but it surfaced on the Internet as a music video.
usabeni's schedule currently includes a show on January 26, 2025, at Ebisu Batica, opening at noon. Another will take place on March 9 at Shinjuku Marble (details & reservations).
