Tokyo's Coolest Sound

The 5.6.7.8's (Facebook page, Instagram) have released a new 7" on U.S. label Hi-Tide Recordings. The A-side is a cover of Sheena & The Rokkets' "You May Dream", and for B-side is "Batman Theme" (by Neal Hefti). "Batman Theme" was often used as Sheena & The Rokkets' opening song in their shows (as you can verify in their extensive setlist history), so this 7" seems to clearly be a tribute to this great band whose beloved leader Makoto Ayukawa passed away on January 29, 2023.

According to the label's online shop, the 7" is expected to be released on September 28. The songs can also already be heard digitally (, Spotify, YouTube Music).

The 5.6.7.8's are currently touring the U.S. East Coast, with upcoming dates in New York (sold out), Boston and Portland (Maine) (details), and then to Canada in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Hamilton (details).
