Tokyo's Coolest Sound

This is a compilation album of Ryuichi Sakamoto works, selected carefully by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu from a repertory of over 1000 songs (including solo, collaborations and live performances), a process that took over half a year. In addition to those is included the previously unreleased track "The Revenant Main Theme (Alva Noto Remodel)".

The album comes on either double-CD or double-LP, both released in Japan from commmons. The double-LP is also available from U.S. label Milan. The album is also available digitally in the U.S. and some other countries, with the exception of a few songs: .

Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away on March 28, 2023. A Spotify playlist of songs he had been privately compiling for his funeral has been published. R.I.P.
