Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Of her "Shibuya-kei standards" series, Nomiya Maki brings us a new album of summer & vacation-themed covers of Shibuya-kei songs, or ones that inspired the scene's artists. Included are songs originally by Watanabe Marina (written by Ozawa Kenji & Oyamada Keigo), Yoshimura Yumi (Puffy) (written by Konishi Yasuharu), Chappie (written by Matsumoto Takashi & Hosono Haruomi), Ōtaki Eiichi, Takeuchi Mariya (written by Yamashita Tatsurō), The Spiders and Robin Ward. Several of the new studio recordings feature chorus group Smooth Ace.

Also, two live duets from shows held last February are included as bonus tracks, with Yokoyama Ken (Crazy Ken Band) and Matsuo Remi (Glim Spanky) respectively. The latter is a cover of Pizzicato Five's "Superstar"!
