Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Morio Agata is releasing a new album as Morio Agata Ruby, the follow-up to "Wonder Ruby 2021" out at the end of 2021. 50 years have passed since his debut in 1972, and he has been releasing a new album every year since 2011.

For his 50th anniversary last year there have been many special releases and re-issues of his works, starting with "Deluxe Raizo" and "Morio Agata Show Time". There was also a 4-CD compilation titled "Bob Dylan to genmai" (Amazon, HMV) and its condensed 1-disc LP edition (Amazon, HMV), a 50th anniversary CD edition of debut single "sekishoku Elegy" (CDJapan, Amazon, HMV), a 2-CD recording of a show from 1978 titled "Agata Morio Concert ~ 'eien no ongoku' at Shibuya Jean-Jean" (CDJapan, Amazon, HMV), and CD re-issues of albums "chikuonban" (1970) (CDJapan, Amazon, HMV), "shōnen saijiki" (1990) (CDJapan, Amazon, HMV) and live album remaster "Planets Abend -Complete Edition-" (1990) (CDJapan, Amazon, HMV). There was also an U.S. re-issue of album "norimono zukan" (1980) on CD (CDJapan, HMV) and LP (HMV, Juno (UK)), and an accompanying 7" single Japanese cut of the songs "Airplane" and "Submarine" (Amazon, HMV). A book titled "ai wa aii tote nani ni naru" was also published (Amazon, HMV). Wow!
