Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Singer and lyricist Mayumi Shinozuka (Instagram, official YouTube channel) is celebrating this year the 50th anniversary of her musical career, having debuted in 1973 with an appearance on an audition TV show of which she was the grand champion. The anniversary is accompanied with this new release of a 7" single produced by Comoesta Yaegashi, which includes a "New Tokyo Mix" of her song "tsukikage no Tokyo" (of which the original was first released in 1980), plus a cover of classic boogie song "Tokyo Boogie Woogie" (a famous song by Ryōichi Hattori from 1947).

The 7", of which the jacket was illustrated by Sakurai Hajime, is being released on Groove Unchant's label Unchantable Records. The release comes with a CD of the two songs plus instrumentals.
