Tokyo's Coolest Sound

Yuyakeshiwasu (Instagram, 𝕏), previously a band but now the solo unit of songwriter Yūsuke Hayashi, has been teaming up with the talentful trio Swlabrs for a while, and here comes a full-length album of the collaboration. The new album "Shonan Psyche" takes inspiration from rocking 60s-70s sounds. It's already available digitally, and a LP edition will be released on October 8 from Rose Records.

Also, a 7" single of two non-album songs has just been released this month, including a cover of Sly & The Family Stone's "Runnin' Away" sung in Japanese, and for B-side an original song titled "You and Me and Rock'n'Roll". Both songs won't be released digitally. Find details below.

These releases follow Yuyakeshiwasu's album "Rock'n'Roll Cult" out last year since which 7" single "Esper Type c/w katasumi no kanojo" was released. A LP re-issue of the band Yuyakeshiwasu's album "Ressentiment" was also released last December.

A special release event for "Shonan Psyche" will be held on September 24 at Shimokitazawa Club Que, also featuring Keiichi Sokabe (of Sunny Day Service) who runs the label, and DJs Nemoto De Chôbeaullet (Childish Tones) and Natsuo Kitazawa. Find details here.
