Various Artists "Circle Arts Compilation Vol.1"
A new label named Circle Arts Records has just released its first compilation album, titled "Circle Arts Compilation Vol.1". Featured on this album are mainly new recordings by dahlia (Instagram), Saigenji (Instagram), kokodsten (Instagram, YouTube) (a unit known for making music using the Nintendo DS synth KORG DS-10, hence its name that reads "koko DS-10"), the British singer-songwriter Richard John (Instagram, YouTube), bluesy rock band ophill (Instagram), the electronic duo Long Island, as well as projects of the label's producer Madoka Kimura (Instagram): the dream-pop duo Li Li Radio (featuring singer Akiko K.), Perfect Circle Project (here also featuring the singer from LiLi Radio), Energy Flow, and Think Different.
The album is available digitally and on CD, though the CD contains two exclusive bonus tracks (alternate mixes of the songs by dahlia and Saigenji). The CD is limited to 300 numbered copies, and can be ordered on Bandcamp, at Circle Arts Records' online shop powered by Base and online shop powered by Shopify (all three of these shipping internationally), or within Japan via Mercali.
The label producer Madoka Kimura explains:
"Through the medium of a compilation album, I wanted to create a place where people could meet beyond the boundaries of time and place - not only listeners and artists, but musicians from different backgrounds and generations. When I began my musical activities with Perfect Circle, I was invited to participate in compilations by independent labels including Happiness Records, Good Music Records, LSN, and File Records. The people I met, the music I encountered, and the conversations we shared remain with me regardless of how much time has passed. I sincerely hope that the connections born from this compilation will open doors to the next stage for listeners and artists alike."
