1. Akane Hosaka "yōshu ojisan" (2025)
(Japanese title: Akane Hosaka 「洋酒おじさん」)

Akane Hosaka (Facebook page) is an independant electronic music artist, who recently released a brand new album titled "Holidays For Electric Music" (Bandcamp).

Her previous works included many numbered "loop" tracks that she posted on SoundCloud, some of which were compiled into album "Loop Music" (2017), prior to which was the album "pikkonoco" (2012) (copies of the physical CD-R can still be found at Tokyo Recohan).

Some songs old and new can also be heard on her YouTube channel, such as "yōshu ojisan".

2. Machi Akari "Yokohama Dilemma" (2025)
(Japanese title: 町あかり 「Yokohama Dilemma」)

This is the latest single by singer-songwriter Machi Akari, released to coincide with the 10th anniversary of her major debut. Played this time is the English version of "Yokohama Dilemma". The single (Spotify, , YouTube Music) also contains another new song titled "boku no umare wa Kōriyama" (this one named after a town of Fukushima prefecture where her mom is from) and the Japanese version of "Yokohama Dilemma", plus instrumentals and a bonus tracks. It's also available on CD: CDJapan, Amazon, HMVa dn Tower Records.

This release followed CDs "Machi Akari Techno Phase I" and "Phase II" out at the end of last year.

3. TAMAYURAM "bye-bye, tape echo" (2025)

TAMAYURAM is the unit formed of Mayutan (Masakosan) and Rukatama, and produced by Gō Takurō (detune., a.k.a. Goqun, ex-Tanqun). "bye-bye, tape echo" is their 2nd single, both of which were released on mini 8cm (3") CD. This latest one came last month for Tanzaku CD Day 2025 held on July 7. The single's B-side is a cover of Moonriders. It is available physically only: CDJapan, Amazon, HMV, Tower Records.

Since "bye-bye, tape echo" cannot be heard online, watch instead the music video of their previous single "She'll -ano ko ga sekai o yurusu made-", which had been released for the Tanzaku CD format's 35th anniversary last February.

4. YIKO "Ano Natsu" (2025)
(Japanese title: YIKO 「あの夏へ」 "ano natsu e")

YIKO (𝕏) (pronounced "ikō") is a very recent band fronted by singers Monari Wakita (ex-Especia) and Satori (ex-The Nampa Boys, ex-Healthy Dynamite Club), with five more members totaling seven.

The song "Ano Natsu" is from their first mini-album, self-titled "YIKO" (Spotify, , YouTube Music), also available on CD (Amazon, HMV, Tower Records).

5. perfect young lady "hint" (2025)
(Japanese title: perfect young lady 「hint」)

Synth-pop solo artist perfect young lady (SoundCloud, Bandcamp, 𝕏) released last month a new album titled "PYL 4th Season...", on which appeared "hint". Available exclusively on Bandcamp, the album is full of recent material.

This release followed her first CD album "BEST 2020-2023" which was since also made available digitally (Spotify, , YouTube Music).

6. AOI12SAI "Megurimeguru" (2025)
(Japanese title: あおい12さい 「めぐりめぐる」)

This is the latest song of singer-songwriter AOI12SAI (Instagram, 𝕏) (read "aoi jūni sai"), titled "Megurimeguru" (Spotify, , YouTube Music). This followed the release of "Antenna" (Spotify, , YouTube Music).

AOI12SAI is also active as part of unit ARAKAWAYA, formed of five siblings and their father. Recently she has started posting DJ mixes on their YouTube channel. Watch the latest here.

7. QUINCAMPOIX "Holic" (2025)

Indie 4-girl rock band QUINCAMPOIX (Instagram, 𝕏) has been releasing new songs recently. "Holic" (Spotify, , YouTube Music) came in June along with the music video below.

Since then another new song, titled "Summer Fatigue" has also been released (music video).

Upcoming shows include event "Joint vol.3" on August 19 at Shimokitazawa Cream, and "Brickflowers #10" on September 4 at Ogikubo Top Beat Club. Find details on their live schedule page.

8. Tokyo Kakehiki Club "L.A. bojō" (2025)
(Japanese title: Tokyoかけひき俱楽部 「L.A.慕情」)

Last is the new song of Tokyo Kakehiki Club (𝕏), duo that takes inspiration from the late 80's, featuring singers Saginomiya Shirō and Suichūka Ranko (aka Mayutan (Masakosan)). You may notice that Mayutan heard earlier singing in TAMAYURAM. The new song "L.A. bojō" was released as a 8cm CD single for Tanzaku CD Day.

While the new single isn't available to hear online, you can check out their first album "Encore" that's available digitally (Spotify, , YouTube Music). Below is the first music video from that album, "Chau Chau Shichau Koigakubo".
