1. Ayane Yamazaki "Mimosa" (2022)
(Japanese title: 山﨑彩音 「Mimosa」)
Singer-songwriter Ayane Yamazaki has just released a new album titled "The Highway of Truth" (Spotify, , YouTube Music) last month digitally, on which appeared the song "Mimosa".
This release followed album "Ribbon" (Spotify, , YouTube Music) released last year digitally, and which was then pressed on vinyl in February this year (still available at Jet Set at least).

2. ARMADA "Telepathy" (2020)
ARMADA (SoundCloud) is a unit formed of songwriters Tamaki Mori (SoundCloud) and Hirotoki Hamasaki. They released their first self-titled mini-album in May 2020 (Spotify, , YouTube Music).
3. Elektel "Dent in the Universe" (2022)
Lounge music unit Elektel released just recently this brand new song titled "Dent in The Universe" (Spotify, , YouTube Music). Check out the music video below!
Elektel's previous release was the song "Goodbye Husky Girl" which appeared on compilation "Pastelphonic pt.3 powered by Guitar Pop Restaurant" (Spotify, , OTOTOY).
Elektel will perform at event "Joy Ride vol.291" on Sunday June 19 at AMPcafe in Koenji.

4. KiQ "Atachipa" (2022)
(Japanese title: KiQ 「あたちぱ」)
KiQ (Instagram, Twitter) (pronounced "ki-Q") is a new band that was formed last year around singer & guitarist Yamanoha (ex-Yomei Hyakunen), also with bassist Isobe Satoshi (also of Puné Loi), drummer Terunuma Kōsei (seen playing with jan and naomi, etc.), and guitarist Mitsuno Daiki (of Magical Lizzy Band). They describe their music as "balloon rock" (the band name also has the meaning of "hot-air balloon"). They just released their first album "FuU" (read "fuyū") (Spotify, , YouTube Music).
The song "Atachipa" is also their first music video that you can watch below, shot at one of my favorite live venues, U.F.O.Club in Koenji. It was also released on 7", which can still be found at Jet Set and HMV
A special show will be held on Tuesday June 28 at Shibuya WWW, featuring various guest musicians and DJ Hideyasu Moto (Rhion Records). Find details here.
5. Reina Nosa "Life Is Sportsman" (2022)
(Japanese title: 野佐怜奈 「ライフ・イズ・スポーツマン」)
Reina Nosa has recently released a new song from her upcoming album "Sports and Distractions". The new song is titled "Life Is Sportsman" (Spotify, , YouTube Music).
Reina also released at the end of last year a mini-album titled "The Closet Music" (Spotify, , YouTube Music), of music that she recorded in her closet-turned-studio, using her ukulele, Casiotone and percussions. Her YouTube channel and Instagram also often feature various covers that she records in that same place.
6. Haruna Yusa "Night Rainbow" (2022)
(Japanese title: 遊佐春菜 「Night Rainbow」)
Haruna Yusa (Twitter, Instagram) (also a member of bands Kowarekake no Tape Recorders and Have a Nice Day!), has recently released an album titled "Another Story Of Dystopia Romance" (Spotify, , YouTube Music) that consists of covers of Have a Nice Day!, band in which she plays keyboards. The song "Night Rainbow" is one of those.
The album comes as a 2-CD package, of which the 2nd CD consists of remixes of each song in reverse order. All songs can also be found digitally, and on label KiliKiliVilla's Bandcamp.
A release event for this album will be held on July 3rd at Basement Bar in Shimokitazawa. Find details here.

7. Coastlines "Waves And Rays" (2022)
To end this episode is a track by Coastlines, the instrumental unit of DJ/producer Masanori Ikeda (previously known as Mansfield) and keyboardist Kaneko Takumi (of cro-magnon). The duo has just released a brand new 2nd album titled "Coastlines 2" (Bandcamp, Spotify, , YouTube Music).
The album was released as a double-LP which can still be bought at HMV at this time. Otherwise you can also get it digitally at Bandcamp or on your favorite platform. There's a detailed article about the release at the English blog Ban Ban Ton Ton.
