Gig report: Saori@destiny "Domestic domain" release event

Saori@destinyThis week was the release of Saori@destiny's new mini-album "Domestic domain", and she is doing a series of mini live shows at Shosen Book Tower, a book and entertainment store in Akihabara.

I went to the event on the 3rd day, Thursday June 16, held up on the 9th floor which has a small event space that must have capacity for about 50 people. Today some 30 fans turned up, not too bad for a rainy day.

Saori performed on the tiny stage, wearing a mixed patterns black and white top with glittery silver short pants, and a headband with feathers like on her latest artist photo. Her hair had changed though, it was a much lighter brown.

She was accompanied by two keyboardists, one who played a Roland SH-201, and the other used Korg synths and a Kaoss Pad. They both wore all black combined with Saori@destiny T-shirts.

The set consisted of 4 songs from the new mini-album plus one from previous album "World Wild 2010".

Set list: Off The Wall / Ethnic Planet Survival / Pray / Domestic domain / Gamba Japan

She also talked a bit saying that the mini-album had temporarily sold out at Amazon on release day, and said that her body might be feeling a bit tired of playing shows everyday as she fell asleep on the train on her way and missed her Akihabara stop ending up 3 stations further. 3 days and 5 shows to go, Gamba Saori! :)

Saori can still be seen at Shosen Book Tower until Sunday June 19. Schedule: Friday 19:00, Saturday 15:00 and 18:00, Sunday 15:00 and 18:00.

She also has an in-store planned at Tower Records Shinjuku on July 2 from 19:00, and a one-man show at Shibuya Glad on July 3.
