In 1998, Yann Tomita released a boxed set of 3 CDs and 1 CD-ROM with the title "Music For Living Sound". 10 years later, here comes this new edition where the CD-ROM is replaced by 2 DVDs more suitable to this day's technology.
A review of the original release can be found at Japanese Electronic Music (technopop.info).

Since it is 2 DVDs vs. 1 CD Rom, there is more material on the DVD not on the original release?

Good question! No details on the DVD contents, but from the press releases it doesn't seem like there will be new/different material on this. So perhaps the CD-ROM's content was just split in two.
