Crazy Ken Band has a new live DVD on the way! This is the last show of the tour for 2016 album "Hong Kong Taxi". It was held on November 26, 2016 at the Kobe International House. The whole show is featured on two DVDs, and a 3rd disc contains an interview and rare footage covering 20 years of CKB plus a special music video directed by VIDEOTAPEMUSIC. A total of five hours!

CKB will tour the country from September 23, to finish at Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo on November 25. Check out their full schedule here.

Fukuoka-based teenage model Manon, of the Asobi System agency (same as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, etc.), debuted last month as a singer with the songs "xxFANCYPOOLxx" and "Beat The Bad Luck" produced by Yuppa (HNC aka Hazel Nuts Chocolate)! Those two were released digitally and as videos on YouTube, and they're now coming on 7"! "xxFANCYPOOLxx" is a breakbeats rap track that samples "Lolita Ya Ya" (from the movie "Lolita"), and "Beat The Bad Luck" has a lo-fi synth-pop taste.

The release has a deluxe feel: it comes in a thick colorful jacket with liner notes that unfold into a mini-poster, and the record is light pink vinyl! A sticker and download code are also included.

Idol duo Chelip, formed of Mayu and Mion, have a 7th single out now on Disk Union's idol label "doles U". The song "korette koi da to omounda" was written and arranged by Hase Yasuhiro (Yume to Cosme), and the other by singer-songwriter Kobayashi Kiyomi. Part of Konishi Yasuharu's on-going 7" project under the "A" (Ace) name, here comes a single of two songs by band Magokoro Bros. The two summer-themed songs were released respectively in 1995 and 1997. The single was mastered by Bernie Grundman.

Magokoro Bros have a new album titled "Flow On The Cloud" to be released on September 13, with a tour to follow in October. See their official site for details.

Musical Notes from the Japanese Underground", this album features 17 bands from various areas of Japan, revolving around genres such as post-punk, industrial and noise rock. Perfume has a new single coming at the end of August! Both songs are used in TV commercials. The title song in a one for Ora2 toothpaste (special site), and B-side "Everyday" of which a version can be heard in another for a Panasonic washing machine (special site).

The single comes in two editions, each containing a different DVD. The "limited edition" has a DVD of the "Everyday" video, its making footage, and two songs performed live at the "Perfume FES!! 2017" event held last June. The "first pressing edition"'s DVD has the "Everyday" clip plus bonus footage with the title "Perfume View". The "limited edition" is said to come in a special package, while the other comes in a sleeve case.

CDJapan and some other retailers give away a promo poster while supplies last.

Kamayatsu Hiroshi (aka Monsieur Kamayatsu, ex-Spiders) passed away last March at the age of 78. Many Shibuya-kei artists deeply respected him.

Here's a 7" from Readymade of two songs from the Konishi Yasuharu-produced album "Je m'appelle Monsieur" (2002). The A-side is a jazzy breakbeat track in which Monsieur speaks words of his memories and influences from the 20th century, here re-edited for the 7" format under Konishi's supervision. The B-side is a self-cover in duet with Ichikawa Miwako, available for the first time on vinyl.

The song "Kiss Me" comes along with a very special 360° VR video. Vanilla Beans are this year celebrating their 10th anniversary! Today, members Rena & Lisa have each released a separate song now available on iTunes Japan and other download/streaming services.

DJ Misoshiru & MC Gohan (nickname: Omisohan) and Lisa (nickname Richako, as Richakohan) teamed up for a food-themed single! Together they cooked yodaredori ("mouthwatering chicken", a spicy chicken dish of Sichuan origin), and then turned their memories of that time into lyrics for this new song. Rena collaborated with band Five New Old who wrote new song "Tokyo Crawl" which she sings solo.

Vanilla Beans' 10th anniversary show will be held on October 7 at Shibuya duo Music Exchange (tickets will go on sale August 11). Another one-man show will be held on August 19 at Shibuya Glad (tickets are on sale).
