Tokyo's Coolest Sound

It's hard to believe that this is the first video release by Wednesday Campanella (aka suiyoubi no Campanella), known for their high-energy shows that have a good dose of surprise! This Blu-ray is of a live show held at famous venue Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on March 8, 2017. In addition to the full show, about 45 minutes of documentary footage about the concert is included.

Wednesday Campanella can be seen at festival Rock In Japan 2017 on August 5, as well as several other music festivals. Check out their full schedule here.

Denki Groove has two new releases out at once today! "Tropical Love Lights" is an alternate edition of latest album "Tropical Love" (2017), including mainly instrumentals and two new mixes.

The other, "Denki Groove Decade 2008-2017", is a greatest hits album from the last ten years which started with singles "Shōnen Young" and "Mononoke Dance" (both 2007), and album "J-POP" (2008) that had followed a long hiatus. Check out the fun sampler clip below!

After three great singles, here comes Wakita Monari (ex-Especia)'s 1st solo album! All songs are said to be worth single cuts.

Included are songs written by Hase Hajimu, Microstar, Fukutomi Yukihiro, Yafune Tetsurō, Nishidera Gōta (Nona Reeves), Count Joke, Hase Yasuhiro (Yume to Cosme), ikkubaru (from Indonesia), and Illicit Tsuboi with YUI (Bakubaku Dokin). Also, three songs are arranged by Arai Toshiya (Count Joke), and other musicians include Smooth Ace, Kashif (PPP) and Nakajima Hajime. Art direction and design by Sally Kubota.

A release party will be held on September 8 at Shibuya clubasia that will feature a live back band! Tickets go on sale on August 7 (with pre-sales from July 26).

Negicco has a new greatest hits album coming this month! Included are songs revolving around albums "Melody Palette" (2013), "Rice&Snow" (2015) and "Tea for Three" (2016), but also a single B-side ("sayonara Music"), previously unreleased show opening song "Make Up Prelude" (written by Hase Yasuhiro (Yume to Cosme)), two previously unreleased recent songs performed in their Spring 2017 tour ("tomodachi ga inai!", arranged by Homecomings, and "kuchibiru ni Melody" by connie), plus brand new song "ai wa hikari" (a collaboration with Kirinji). The limited edition includes a Blu-ray disc of the entire tour finale show of the "Spring 2017 Tour ~Live House no Negi~", held at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo last April. A limited 2-LP vinyl edition will also be released on August 15.

The Aprils has a new single coming this week! Title song "Horror Survivor" is a brand new collaboration with The Lady Spade, who was previously featured on "Magical Girls". The B-side is a self-cover of "KIRA×KIRA×KIRA×KIRA", a song that was written for Mizuka (see "Marshmallow Glitter").

"natsuyasumi no Baby"

This is a live DVD (and Blu-ray) of the last show of Charan-Po-Rantan's latest tour, titled "Charan-Po-Rantan to yukai na Cancan Balcan Tour 2016-17 'taishū ongaku no tebiki'", which closely followed the release of album "toritomenashi". This show was held at Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo on January 21, 2017.

The Blu-ray edition contains a bonus disc with footage from two other shows. Included are 6 songs and 17 songs respectively.

Charan-Po-Rantan can next be seen in Tokyo on July 20 at Shibuya Club Quattro, in an event with Katahira Rina. Tickets are on sale.

Singer-songwriter Etuka's new electro-pop solo unit Mira Parameter has a first album being released on Gooondo, the label of Gondō Tomohiko (Metafive). The album, with a sound reminiscent of 80's techno, was produced by Gondō and mastered by Sunahara Yoshinori.

Digital purchases of the full album from OTOTOY include a bonus remix by Gondō Tomohiko of "yoru Marathon".

After the release of a few EPs, tropical city pop female singer Natsu Summer has a first full-length album being released. The producer is Cunimondo Takiguchi (of Ryūsenkei, who also produced hitomitoi's "City Dive" album). Check out the clip below for "koi no Timing".
